Observador Lifestyle
Magazine Article - Fall 2024
GRAUº had the pleasure of welcoming Observador Lifestyle to our home and studio, for their segment "The Choices of". Our rooftop terrace and roof became the unusual setting for a fun photoshoot.
We had the opportunity to introduce our studio/apartment, showcasing some of our most-treasured personal objects and travel souvenirs, as well as our favorite GRAUº pieces.
Nothing is lost
"The proof is in these framed pieces. Whenever something breaks in the kiln, we save all of the remains. We then decided to frame some of our broken masks, which led to a limited-edition collection, almost as an archeological celebration of failure."
Something we transformed
"We wanted to cover the dinning table lamps we already had, so we came up with the idea of creating custom pieces to cover them. It resulted as prototypes for a soon-to-come new lighting collection, from GRAUº, with this playful "totem-like" and stackable design."
The best gift
"It's us, as cloth figurines. As a part of Portugal Manual, we got to know quite well other artists, like Benedetta Maxia, who created Fulana Beltrana, that does these custom characters.
We then created the miniature versions of our signature pieces, the mask and the rope tube. They are now our official studio mascots."
